Despite the last year being a bump in the road for many when it comes to their original recruitment plans, here at The Verve Group we’ve bucked that trend and continued with our focus and plans for expansion. Since the onset of Covid-19 last March, we’ve increased our head count across Para-Sols, Apricity Compliance and The Art of Finance by almost 30%.

In line with our mission and ethos to change the face of finance, our graduate programme ‘The Grad Scheme’, has also seen two intakes in 2021 alone and is currently still open for applications for our summer and winter cohorts.

Not only that, but a launch of brand new services has been the main fuel behind a recruitment drive for us as The Verve Group, as we develop from a holding brand to a fully-fledged service provider. In order to do this, we’ve expanded out from recruiting and training new people, to instead hire those with experience on the advice side, to bring that knowledge and understanding of the client perspective to strengthen our overall offer.

These include Emma Perkins, who is joining the team as a Paraplanning ‘Techspert’, a term we’ve coined in financial services, as the latest addition to our Techspert Hub. Emma brings with her many years of experience at a number of advice firms, in a range of technical and paraplanning roles. With The Verve Group she will be using this expertise to provide support across the different businesses, including working with firms looking for support with creating internal suitability report templates.

Over in Apricity Compliance, Maddie Delboy joins imminently as Head of Regulatory Support, moving over from a senior compliance role at Ascot Wealth Management. Maddie brings a number of years of direct compliance experience, having worked closely with the FCA and on all areas of policy and regulation.

A further hire is Paul Sylvester-Evans, Compliance Consultant at Apricity Compliance, who joined the team earlier in the year following a senior manager role at Chase de Vere. Prior to this, Paul had an extensive career at Nationwide Building Society, including a number of years as an independent financial adviser.

And there are many more hires in the pipeline. In a recent edition of Eclipse, a personal newsletter sent weekly to over 8,000 subscribers, Cathi Harrison, our Founder and CEO, highlighted that there are 20 new roles still to fill, ranging from entry level to senior. While a number of roles are listed at vacancies, the company ethos is to “hire good people, not fill roles” and so anyone interested in being part of our ever-growing team can simply pop their CV to careers@weareverve.co.uk.
