We are looking for an experienced Client Engagement or Business Development Manager to help us take The Art of Finance to the next stage of its journey. Despite being less than a year old, we’re already developing a fantastic reputation across financial services, with incredible success rates and positive reactions to our style of training.We’re looking for someone to help spread the word further, creating colourful splashes of news about the prospects of starting, or developing a career in finance. A positive attitude and being unafraid of hard work are the other two essential qualities for a career with us!

About the Role

Despite being less than a year old as a company, we’re growing at pace as the demand for a different and creative solution to training in financial services grows too. So, we’re looking for someone with previous account management or business development experience (both B2B and B2C), who understands a consultative sales approach and building long lasting relationships.

Our head office is located in Co Durham, but we also have a London office, and our clients are based all around the country. Therefore, we are open to applicants from all locations, though we would expect as a minimum they can attend the northern office once a month. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Generating new clients and nurturing relationships through existing and new strategies to meet the business plan objectives.
  • Looking out for opportunities within the market to create sales opportunities.
  • Building relationships with both cold and warm leads to discover their training needs (if any), and work with them to understand if The Art of Finance could support their training framework. No room for the traditional hard sell here.
  • Host webinars, attend face to face meetings and attend events either as a delegate for networking, or as an exhibitor promoting the brand.
  • Bringing your own ideas forward and contributing to the companies’ sales strategies, we have a marketing team to support this.

About You

At least three years’ experience in a business development type role, with an understanding of coaching techniques, being an extremely strong advantage. In addition, there are a number of key skills that we look for in our perfect candidate and they are…

  • The ability to understand a range of target audiences and be able to articulate personal benefits to a given audience demographic (both B2B and B2C)
  • Demonstrable experience in business development, with a strong ability to negotiate and close a sale.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and generally good at chatting to people and building relationships.
  • Being able to bring initiative and fresh ideas to the role and the company.
  • Pro-active and able to use own initiative to manage targets.
  • Strong brand awareness, and fully embody the company values.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
  • Confident presentation skills.
