Darlington Paraplanning £17k+ Depending Upon Experience Full time

We are looking for a financial administrator who has some experience in a similar role, although not necessarily in a finance environment. You will be joining an established team of administrators who will aid you on your journey to understand all aspects of financial services. All we ask is that you are keen to specialise in the skills needed to undertake this role.

About the Role

We are currently in a large growth phase within Para-Sols and are looking to create an additional role of a financial administrator to assist the current administrators in their support of the large paraplanning team and to help them move forward with their own service offerings.

Once you have developed experience in the financial administration role, you would have the opportunity to specialise in a specific area such as defined-benefit pensions. There are career progressions available to an administrator, including moving into the paraplanner department, senior administrator roles and management. This will be available once the required experience and qualifications are achieved.

About You


  • GCSEs in Maths and English.
  • 1-year experience in an administrative role (any financial services experience would be preferred).

Technical Expectations

  • Be able to accurately and efficiently compile data on a range of plan and policy types.
  • Hit the set number of cases targeted by the Administration Manager.
  • Strong computer skills, confident with Microsoft Office, and able to learn new software easily.
  • Confidently deal with providers and advisers, via a range of communication methods.
  • Thoroughly and consistently update back office system and case notes.
  • Be able to work both as part of a hub of paraplanners, and more generally in the administration team, supporting a range of firms.

  • Confident manner, able to clearly and effectively communicate, via telephone, email and our project management system.
  • Be a team player and help promote a positive working atmosphere.
  • Ability to stay focused under pressure, manage workload, and juggle various tasks and cases.
  • Very good numeracy and written skills.
  • Show a passion for financial administration, supporting the paraplanners, and helping grow Para-Sols, and protect the brand we have built.
