Breaking down barriers on the BBC

Did you catch Cathi on TV this week? Verve founder and CEO Cathi Harrison featured on BBC Morning Live, lending her expertise to a segment on affordable financial advice – a topic close to all our hearts!

If you know anything about Verve (and the Verve Foundation) you’ll know our mission is to promote the positive impact of financial advice and highlight its potential to benefit individuals and businesses alike.

In the segment, Cathi chats with broadcaster and money specialist Iona Bain about her personal efforts to make the financial services industry more accessible to both professionals and the public – and why representation matters when it comes to creating trust, building rapport and giving great advice.

With the average age of advisers firmly at 56, and the vast majority (84 in 100!) of them male, Cathi strives for inclusion. The ideal is for people to be able to recognise themselves in the person they’re asking for advice, no matter who they are or where they come from.

With the conversation also landing on leading a female-led finance company, and efforts to change the industry’s struggling image in the public eye, this is one not to miss.

Special thanks go to Second Draft for another superb production capturing the essence of what we do and why.
