As one door closes another opens…straight into The Verve Group’s office.

We invited a bunch of recent graduates, and people interested in a career in finance to attend our Graduate Assessment Day – fuelled by coffee and sweet treats on a muggy Friday in May. The weather was not the best, but our attendees were on top form.

As we take a values-based approach to all our recruitment – believing that we can teach anyone the skills they need, but we can’t make someone have the right attitude – our assessment days focus on our company values and a selection of fun activities to put candidates at ease. The day was run by some of our leadership team, Cathi, Jo and Nat, and Sunaina – one of our top paraplanners, who herself is also a success story of our grad scheme.

The day began with an all-important icebreaker – play a game which tested everyone’s drawing skills! When the ice was truly broken, and candidates settled into the session, a series of activities followed to test their problem-solving and a chance to say hello to some more of our team.

We love to show our candidates who we are at The Verve Group, our ‘work hard, play hard’ mantra is key, and we love to support one another, so why not introduce our candidates to this thinking as soon as possible. It was a tough selection once the day was over, as it always is, but after some weekend reflection, decisions were made, and we now can’t wait to welcome our newest team members into the Verve fold next month.

We posted the day on our Instagram story, so make sure you are following us over there if you don’t miss out next time – @thegradscheme
